My Pitch


 My Pitch is as follows. The first pitch is a car driving down a highway and as it goes an upbeat song from the 90s plays on the radio. They drive along the beach as the sun eventually sets in the background the sun goes from sunrise to sunset in the sequence of the intro.  The problem with this is mostly filming restraints. I don't really have a good way of filming this. Standing in the road is a definite no go. Filming from the beach means facing away from the sunshine since that means not getting the integral shot. Also no camera I have can specifically protect from lens flair issues, Which really makes this all and all a completely unviable strategy. Overall while it is possible it simply isn't feasible with my equipment right now. This in general while in my mind would be a good idea really does devolve when you think about it. Maybe at the next level of professionalism. 


My other and most likely smarter idea is filming a pan of a "Battlefield" filled with green army men. In the background I would have what a wonderful world playing and firecrackers going off. I think that would be intresting and in general it works better. I can use a phone camera if needed. Though the problem and biggest hurdle is finding out who owns what a wonderful world.. Due to me having to email them about what a wonderful world. This is in the end the idea I will most likely go for as it is just the easiest idea. From what I can gather it is currently in the public domain. Though it is also owned by paramount pictures.

Genre research: Lord of War

The Movie Lord of War is one of my favorite Movies ever definitely my favorite war movie. When it comes to Nicholas Cage this is some of his best work and shows how he really can be an amazing actor. Even though as of recent he hasn't been in stride. It scored a 6/10 with average film critics and a 9/10 average with moviegoers. Common CAMS in the movie A lot of the shots in this movie are very uncomfortable it makes you feel weird and bad about what your seeing. Which is a very interesting way to film a movie. This is best seen with its opening sequence life of a bullet in which you take a pov of a bullet as its created and shipped out before it is used to kill a child solider. Editting and whatever rhymes with editing (Editing Blog)

 Today I began the long arduous process of editing. To begin, I had to fix one scene. Initially, I had tried to film the scene in darkness, however, that didn't work out so well. So, to solve this issue, I had decided to try to film in light and then just make it darker in post. While it ended up working out, it definitely took away from the scene a little bit. It is still somewhat noticeable that the scene takes place in bright light, but hopefully, that can be fixed with some more editing. However, this may simply be noticeable to me as the editor and not as noticeable to those seeing it for the first time. But for now, it is serviceable. Past that I began the work of darkening up the extra scenes. Through this, I had learned that I had gone almost exactly on time instead of over or under time with the recording. Production blog #3

 Today I began filming. We went out to the beach and unfortunately it began raining. So I had to go back into the car and wait for about 2 hours. Once we got out the sand was still wet . We set up the green army men and everything seemed in order. Then we started filming and learned unfortunately that pop it's will not actually explode on wet sand. This made it almost impossible for the pop its to explode. So then we had to deal with that problem. We took a slab of rock and put it under the sand so the pop it's would have more force. No dice still wasn't working. So then we decided to try to just do it on stone. Then realized the pop its actually got wet not allowing them to explode. So then we hiked it to Walmart to get more of them. We got there got out of the car. Went into the store. Looked around. Only to see that they were out of the Pop it's.
